How Does Belt Sizing Work?

Ever go belt shopping, grab your typical pant size, and realize that there is no way that belt is doing to do up? You are not alone when doing that, and in fact belts have a completely different sizing than pants.

The simplest thing to do when purchasing a belt is to measure where your belt will sit (waist or hips) and take that measurement to the belt. Typically your pant size will be 2" smaller than the belt sizing.

Keep in mind when selecting a belt, you want to make sure you are doing the belt up in the middle hole. Most belts will come with 5 holes made, so plan to have 2 on either side of your buckle when done up.
